I paint because I like it.
I paint to explore existential questions of the mind-body relationship, neurological and biological processes, structures, language.
I paint to understand and to express the self and all that is beyond the self.
I paint to know the other.
I am a painter and all I create regardless of the final form is painting.
As a graduate from Kent State University, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art (Painting), I have also studied Art History, Philosophy and Pedagogy at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany (KIT) and was a guest student at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design/Staatliche Hochschul für Gestaltung Karlsruhe in the Institute for Art and Media Theory/Institut für Kunstwissenschaft ind Medienphilosophie (HfG). In 2016 I was awarded an MFA Creative Practice by the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom. Currently I am completing practice-based doctoral research on the impact of personas applied as tools in my painting practice as a post-graduate student in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at the University of Plymouth. For over twenty-five years I have exhibited my work in solo and group exhibitions throughout Germany and the United States. I live and paint in Providence, Rhode Island USA.
